#mahsaamini

Iran’s s̶u̶p̶r̶e̶m̶e̶ ̶l̶e̶a̶d̶e̶r̶ dictator Ayatollah Ali Khamenei approved amnesty for tens of thousands of prisoners put under conditions that will likely exclude protesters. Protests have been ongoing for over 5 months, following the tragic death of Mahsa Amini.

Protesters are being met with violent suppression by government forces, leading to the death of over 500 protesters. The average age of protesters is 15. The U.N. is calling for global action and is urging Iran to stop using the death penalty against protesters. 100 Iranians, including 5 women, face death sentences.

This is a women-led revolution and deserves to have more global recognition.
